Description

A Bactrian bronze kohl bottle in the form of a standing bird - probably a duck or swan. The figure has a flattened, square base. Designed as a receptacle for kohl, a gelatinous cosmetic paste; the entrance to the cavity is blocked with encrusted build-up.
The first two images depict before being cleaned by a museum conservator.
