An elegant Indian carved sandstone statue of a celestial maiden "Surasundari". Depicted standing naked wearing elaborate beaded jewelry, large earrings and belt. Her right hand rests on her plentiful hips, in her left she holds a long lotus flower stalk. Underfoot kneels "Apasmara" a dwarflike demon said to represent human / spiritual ignorance. |
