Description

Apple green glazed faience eroticon depicting the dwarf god Bes and three nude female figures (upside down), the central female figure with legs parted and engaged in love-making with Bes; the other two figures are by his side and form his bow legs. 

From the Nikos Paschalis (1918 - 1948) Collection, inherited in 1965 by his sister, Assimina Paschalis, later by descent to Dr W. Galanos of Melbourne, Australia.

Mr Paschalis was the grandson of George Paschalis, the founder of the Paschalion Archaeophylakeion Museum in Samos, Greece in 1912
