A rare A Mesopotamian bronze duck bill axe. interestingly cast with raised ridges running around the pierced holes and raised central midrib. This example appears to be votive or belonging to a person of high status as the blade is dull and appears to have not had an edge.


Circa 2nd Millennium B.C., Mesopotamia or Western Iran


Length: 9.7 cm / Width 8.5 cm


Heavily oxidised, in good condition. This piece is yet to be mounted, the mount in the images was only used to help with photography.
