A very fine Indian four stringed lute known as a Tambura. These instruments are played as an accompaniment to vocalists or the more known Tabla or Sitar. This example has ivory inlay running around the body of the body and along the neck, has a beautiful sound and is in perfect condition.

Circa early to mid 20th Century, North India.
