Description

A Napoleonic "Gladius" short sword. The brass handle cast in ancient Roman form. The iron blade and brass handle bearing 2 x makers stamps. This example was liberated by English Lieutenant Blunt in 1815 during the battle of Waterloo, when Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated and remained in this family until it was acquired by the previous owner.
