Description

A Nepalese painted wooden temple gateway, torana, carved in high relief with depictions of Hindu deities.
The arch is constructed in four sections, joined together by wooden dowel rods.
A similar torana from the same temple is in the collection of the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne.

 

Origin:

 Circa 16th century A.D. Nepal
