Description

A finely rendered Northern Qi Dynasty pottery caparisoned horse. Standing, with the head pulled into the neck, with the mane tied high in a topknot coiffure, on a trapezoidal tile base. The flared saddle, moulded bosses and strappings displaying vibrant original pigment decoration.
Ex Hong Kong Collection. 

This piece is accompanied by a thermoluminescence from the Laboratory Kotalla, Haigerloch, Germany, stating its age to be approximately 1550 years BP.
