Description
A very rare serpentine Ushabti fragment. The front surface showing the crossed over hands holding a crook and flail surmounted by the remaining sections of the tripartite wig, below this are three partial horizontal registers of hieroglyphs. The reverse shows a reed basket on the left shoulder. Ushabti figures made from serpentine are extremely rare. Known examples reside in University College Collection London, and the Cairo Museum. Ex T. McAllister Collection, United Kingdom 1970's Art Market, Acquired from him during the 1990's while he resided in Queensland. |
