Description

A Javanese bronze statuette of the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, provider of wealth and prosperity. Standing on a a square base, her four hands holding attributes. Wearing dhoti, bejewelled, an elaborate conical crown, with elongated earlobes with large earrings.

Circa 10th Century A.D., Eastern Java, Indonesia

Condition:

Ancient loss evident on the reverse, base and just below the left hand. Rejoined at the feet, with silicone filling on the legs to stabilise the loss. Heavy verdigris patina, in good presentable condition. Presented on a custom display stand.
